Our Mission

Our mission at Alautus is make luxury custom garments for women. We are focused on giving our customers a voice in how their clothes look and feel.  Women are worthy of luxury custom pieces that make feel polished and powerful.   Our pieces are one of a kind made to your measurements.  Each piece is made upon order customized per your input.  Just like you – our pieces are one of a kind and remarkable and due to this we have certain terms regarding the return of such customized garments.  Alautus stands behind every piece of clothing we make and we have crafted our return policy to reflect our dedication to our customers. If you do not love your items, we have constructed guidelines to ensure that you have a piece you truly love, or you have the opportunity to return it.

Custom Remake Policy


Have you ever pulled an outfit on, glanced in the mirror, and felt excitement about every element of the garment? We call that a full-body yes. It is true luxury to feel the cut, the color, and the fabric come together in the perfect way for you. If your piece does not give you that “yes” feeling and does not meet your expectations, Alautus will make your return or alterations journey as simple as possible. Each customer is permitted two complimentary remakes per custom product item.  For example, if you ordered a Keswick Car Coat and requested a remake of such Keswick Car Coat you would only have the ability for one remake on any future purchases of custom Car Coats. Please contact us if you have questions.  Additional remakes may be warranted if after review by our Alautus technical team it is verified that the custom garment ordered had an unacceptable manufacturing defect through no fault of the customer.


To request a remake, please return your original purchase custom garment to Alautus and notify our customer service team of such request by emailing Hello@Alautus.Com with the subject matter title “Remake Request”.


Remakes are subject to fabric, materials and garment availability and all remakes are subject to our company terms and conditions, policies and shipping terms.





In an effort to make the returns process stress-free, Alautus will send you a pre-paid shipping label. All you have to do is timely pack up your unworn, and undamaged merchandise and the receipt, attach the label, and mail or ship it back to us at your convenience. Alautus is unable to accept returns of any of its garments that have been excessively worn, damaged, altered, tailored or are not returned timely in accordance with this Returns and Alterations Policy.


Items that are eligible for return must be returned within 30 days of the purchase date to qualify for a full refund. Any return mailed after 30 days will not be returnable for a full refund. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. The typical processing time for refunds is 7-10 business days once we have received the items.


Note that items must be unworn, unwashed, and unaltered in order to qualify for a full return.  Alautus is not liable for returns that are lost in transit.  Please keep record of your tracking information with your carrier when sending back a garment.  Exchanges are subject to garment and fabric availability.


Alterations and Tailoring


Requests for common alterations must be submitted within 30 days of the purchase. Alautus will reimburse up to 15% of the original price of the garment for common alterations. To request reimbursement for common alterations, a photo of the receipt for such alterations must be submitted to our customer service (Hello@Alautus.Com).  Reimbursement for alterations and tailoring will be issued as store credit and not a refund to the card or payment method used to purchase the item.  Each customer has a maximum alterations and tailoring reimbursement credit of $350.

How do I care for my Alautus pieces?

Our Alautus Keswick Sheath and our Keswick Car Coat are made of a luxurious double wool crepe with a stretch satin lining.  Each piece has care instructions on the label that recommend dry cleaning.  That being said, our founder, Alana Matthews, hand washes her Keswick Sheath and Keswick Car Coat using cold water with gentle soap relying on wool’s stain resistant, water repellant, and anti-microbial properties.  We have handwashed our pieces using cold water, gentle soap and laid them flat to dry.


What happens to the custom made to measure pieces when they are returned?

In our minds, one fantastic dress can cancel the need to purchase five other, less sustainably made, pieces. We are an environmentally and socially conscious brand in intention and in practice and endeavor to put any returned pieces to good use. Alautus is currently exploring partnerships with philanthropy organizations dedicated to supporting women entering or reentering the workforce as well as textile recycling platforms.


Does Alautus ship internationally?


No, not at this time.  We ship only to the United States.
Can I purchase Alautus clothing anywhere else?

Our items are exclusively carried through our website:  We will also appear in pop ups throughout the U.S. as well as planned events and trunk shows.  Create an account on to sign up to receive information and stay up to date on all things Alautus.


Can I rush manufacturing and shipping times?

Rush delivery is not available for our custom made-to-measure garments.  Our garments are made based off the measurements you input when you order – uniquely yours – and take two to four weeks to create and ship depending on the garment ordered.  If you have concerns or questions about production and shipping time, please contact our customer service by emailing and a customer service representative will help you find solutions.


Can I purchase a gift card?


Physical Gift Cards and Electronic Gift Cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.  Gift cards can be purchased through our website  Lost or stolen Gift Cards are not replaceable.
